The business began as a pilot with only 3 people in 2008 growing to 50 by 2012 and in the next two years is expected to grow to employ over 100 people within this division alone, half of whom will be people with a disability. |

This modern clean factory is many times the size of our old site at Melrose Park and will allow us to significantly grow both businesses and offer increased employment opportunities. The selection of new premises has been challenging in terms of size, type and location but we believe the new location offers significant improvements.
We would like to also recognise the support of the Federal Government, and the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) in particular, of whom we are profoundly grateful. Not only for their financial assistance to enabling us to relocate, but also their foresight in supporting our efforts to create quality employment opportunities for people with a disability. Currently, we are working closely with Prozess who are specialists in manufacturing efficiency to ensure our electronics recycling facilities are world class. Further we are consulting specialists in the area of vocational training for people with a disability from both Flinders and Adelaide University. The aim is to identify effective strategies to assist people with a disability to gain the most benefits from growth in our new venture. Next few months are not be without challenges as we settle in, but I am very excited by the real employment opportunities we are creating for people with a disability and in the broader community here in South Australia. Our newest venture, Aspitech (www.aspitech.com.au) is rapidly expanding and is now the second largest e-waste service in Adelaide and will potentially employ a significantly larger number of people with disabilities as it grows. Aspitech was established in 2008 to explore new businesses due to the decline in manufacturing and offer new green job opportunities for our employees in the area of e-waste management due to the introduction of new national environmental legislation.
