Supported Employment (ADE)

The aim of Supported Employment is to offer people with disability tailored on-the-job support and training specifically for individuals where competitive employment may not currently be the best option. Employment is provided within one of three very different small businesses established by SA Group Enterprises.

Businesses are run as commercial enterprises within competitive skilled industries such as Graphic Design, Manufacturing and Information technologies providing an integrated work environment where people with disability work with and alongside industry train professionals.

Dot Point Wire Ware - Manufacturers and designers of Point of Purchase Display Stands.

Enclave

An enclave is a variation on our supported employment model where a small group of people are employed by SA Group Enterprise to work on-site within another business or organisation as a contracted workforce unit. Personnel employed are supported by trained staff on-the-job and receive the same employment and support programs as they would working within one of SA Group Enterprises Businesses including wages and conditions, the only difference is that people are working within an external enterprise out in the community.

SA Group Enterprise has been successfully operating an enclave working within the Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science (IMVS) Pathology Lab at in Adelaide CBD.

This highly successful and exciting project operated by our Human Services Department and currently employs six people in a unique workplace environment.

To apply for a position in one of our supported employment services you will need to meet the following selection criteria:

  • Have a disability
  • Be motivated to work
  • Eligible for a FaHCSIA funded Service.
  • Able to work at least eight hours per week
  • Meet the specific selection criteria for one of business operations

If you meet all the selection criteria and are interested in applying for a position you will need to contact the Human Services Manager who will organise to meet with you and show you around your workplace of choice.
