Aspitech Story

Early beginnings of Inprint Design

SA Group Enterprises began experimenting with the idea of providing employment opportunities in computing for people with disability in 1989.

We began using the new Apple Macintosh Classic that came standard a GUI operating system and mouse, in those days even the trainers found using a mouse unfamiliar. This is one of their early training sessions during that time, and from these early beginnings we established a business called Inprint Design.

Inprint Design is now one of the leading graphic design studios in the Southern metropolitan area of Adelaide in South Australia.

SA Group Enterprises is a social enterprise with a difference who not only offer innovative new career opportunities for people with disability through our unique businesses, but also through our specialist competitive employment services for the Deaf and hearing impaired.

However despite successfully operating for 25 years our organisation is relatively unknown, better recognised by our business enterprises than an organisation that provides quality employment opportunities for people with disability. Although this has been a valuable social outcome for our employees and a successful strategy for our businesses it is becoming increasingly important that our organisation is easily recognised in the community. Not only so that people looking for employment are aware of our services and the opportunities we offer, but also to build stronger networks and partnerships within communities, other organisations and government.

As the first step in this new direction, we were pleased to launch our new logo and website www.sage.org.au at our AGM in November. The logo was designed and developed in consultation with Inprint Design our graphic design business. The logo not only represents our group of social enterprises but also our vision:

"Professional work places, real jobs, valued people"
